Welcome to Ballyhane Stud
Ballyhane Stud is a family run stud farm located at the heart of the South East, in Co. Carlow. Since its establishment in 1991, the facilities at Ballyhane have been continuously developed to provide a wide range of services to the bloodstock industry.
We have a long history of standing stallions that gives breeders a great chance of producing high class racehorses but also, and importantly, making money from their breeding business.
With our current roster of stallions standing at the stud, top class boarding and foaling facilities, sales preparation and all-weather gallops for pre-training and training, we can take a horse from conception right through to the racetrack, with the guarantee of a personal service to our clients.

New recruit Magnum Force showed Ger Lyons a high level of talent from the start and his impressive victory from a deep field in the Gr.1 Juvenile Turf Sprint at the Breeders Cup indicated his brilliance. We are confident that breeders are going to be very impressed when they inspect this gorgeous son of Mehmas, and given his initial stud fee of €7,500, he allows breeders an excellent opportunity of both breeding a top racehorse and doing good business.
Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes
We are excited to be involved in the sponsorship and running of the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes at Naas Racecourse. This race offers an exciting new opportunity for two year olds who’s sires established a median price of no more than €75,000 at yearling sales, with prize money being paid to all 20 runners in the race. Together with the Listed Ballyhane Blenheim at Fairyhouse these races allow us to show our support to breeders, owners and trainers in Ireland and the UK.
