Dandalla follows up Royal Ascot success with tough Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge victory

Updated: Jul 15, 2020

Dandalla maintained her unbeaten record at the Newmarket July meeting when putting in a gutsy performance to win the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes. The Karl Burke trained two year old has consistently put in strong winning performances and this win was no different, with her galloping to the line in decisive fashion to hold off her rivals.

The daughter of Dandy Man has shown she has both the mental and physical ability to hold her own at the top level and is a filly to follow with intent. She holds entries in the Phoenix Stakes Grp. 1 at the Curragh in early August as well as the Irish EBF Ballyhane Stakes at Naas, which has been given an increase in prize fund to €320,000, with prize money paid down to 20th place and a consolation race worth €80,000 now added on the same card, for the inaugural running of the race.

- Ben Curtis, winning jockey speaking about Dandalla after her Duchess of Cambridge Stakes victory:

"She has a great will to win and a good mental attitude to go along with her ability. She ticks a lot of boxes."
